Crafted exclusively from grapes harvested in the Premier Cru, the Meukow Prestige Nec Plus Ultra Grande Champagne Cognac is something truly special. It comprises the oldest eaux-de-vie from within the house’s Paradis Cellar, presented in a stunning Baccarat Crystal decanter. The Cognac itself is wonderfully elegant with a mature structure. Persistent on the palate, this shows complexity and roundness, allowing aromas and tastes to evolve effortlessly. Truly a great example of a well-aged Grand Champagne expression.

Meukow was founded by two brothers from Silesia, August-Christophe and Gustav Meukow, and is today one of the few Russian Cognac brands in the Charente region. Initially sent to source Cognac for Tsar Alexander II in 1850, the brothers travelled back and forth for years in their search for the most prestigious casks. Seeing an opportunity to start up business for themselves, in 1862 they decided to remain in France and opened their distillery.

The company grew rapidly, managed under the influence of prestigious shareholders like Henri Bouraud, the Mayor of Cognac from 1849 to 1869. Today, Meukow Cognac is distributed in over 80 countries around the world. Cellar Master Anne Sarteaux oversees all production of Meukow Cognac, and with her distinctive style and attention to detail, she carries on traditions that have been passed down since the house was founded.

With its mid-century charm, you can’t help but be taken in by this unusual decanter. Crafted in Baccarat crystal with a giant chrome stopper, this would make a stunning centerpiece for any Cognac collection – the very essence of a ‘top shelf’ spirit. The original decanter drawings date back to the 1950s, a nod to the extended age of the liquid housed within.
