Description
Hennessy Privé Cognac
Hennessy Privé Cognac is a special edition that first appeared at Singapore Changi Airport in 2009.
In 1920, James Hennessy, a man of power and taste with strong influence on French social and political life, had a ‘very private’ Cognac blended to honor his friends among the social elite of the day. He requested his Master Blender Alfred Fillioux create a Cognac that would be both structured and elegant, to reflect the values of Art Deco. Nearly a century later, Maison Hennessy revived this tradition. Alfred Fillioux’s descendant, Yann Fillioux thus composed this tribute to the private expression enjoyed by James Hennessy and his contemporaries. To create this Privé release, Yann selected remarkable old eaux-de-vie which were aged in young oak casks, creating a robust character with remarkable depth.
Specializing in distilling their eaux-de-vie without the lees for a smooth, clean palate, Hennessy also knows how to utilize humid cellars for a steady maturation. As the largest Cognac house in the world, we can trust that Hennessy knows exactly how to make each eau-de-vie work in tandem with one another to create the ultimate sensory experience.
Presentation of the Bottle
Hennessy Privé Cognac comes in a heavy, wide decanter with a reflective black stopper and gold details. It’s accompanied by a stunning black Art Deco-inspired gift box with a texture reminiscent of crocodile leather.
