Chabasse Cognac VSOP: A well balanced beauty
The Chabasse VSOP Cognac is a wonderfully well-balanced blend of several terroirs, aged for a minimum of 4 years in traditional French limousin oak casks. A family affair since the 19th century, the estate was founded by Jean-Baptiste Chavasse in 1818 in Saint-Jean d’Angély.
The brand may not be as well known as others in the region, but did experience its fifteen minutes of fame when a bottle of their Napoléon and XO Imperial appeared in the film Grace of Monaco with Nicole Kidman, with the family even being invited to Cannes Film Festival for the premiere!
A fairly full-bodied VSOP, it boasts warm notes of ripe fruits and a distinct and dominant floral bouquet, there are also some light cocoa and oak flavors in the mouth. A delightfully delicate yet distinguished VSOP to please the palate of even the most discerning drinker or Cognac connoisseur!
How to Enjoy:
Chabasse recommend sipping this Cognac neat, on the rocks or equally as a long drink. Its floral fragrances would pair well with tonic water as a mixed drink.
Presentation of the Bottle:
The bell-shaped bottle is typical of Chabasse’s style, with avant-garde designs and shapes now becoming a famous feature of their products. The elegant gold, cream, and deep red details perfectly complement the Cognac’s golden color.
The bottle features the Chabasse coat of arms embossed onto the glass (two cranes) and also comes with a white and shiny copper-colored cardboard case for gifting, storage or display purposes.
