Description
Limited Edition 1968 Vintage Cognac from Petite Champagne
The Maxime Trijol Vintage 1968 Cognac is a sumptuous celebration of the single, slow-ripened harvest of 1968 and of the rich Santonian soil known to the Petite Champagne cru. Aged for a staggering 39 years, each individually numbered Millésime has undergone a meticulous creation process certified by the Bureau National Interprofessional du Cognac (BNIC) authorities to deliver the utmost quality. The Petite Champagne area is the second part of the Fine Champagne Cognac region. Its chalky soil produces fine eau-de-vie that famously takes longer to mature – but is well worth the wait.
The result is an exceptional spirit boasting deep copper tones and intensely fruity aromas, which give way to lighter floral notes and a distinctly silky finish.
Unlike many larger Cognac houses, Maxime Trijol maintains total control of the production process from field to bottle. For six generations, the family have been cultivating their own vineyards, distilling and aging their eaux-de-vie on site. Their first copper still was installed in Saint-Martial-sur-Né in the heart of the Cognac region in 1859, and over 150 years later this family still maintain the same passion and independence.
